There's great 'strength in numbers', once we show we are together, they can't stop us.
At Stand Strong, we are committed to making a positive impact. Our mission is to tackle the societal issue of bullying amongst our young generation. We believe that solving problems at the root cause can make the difference in the long term. The world would be a better place if we can raise the awareness of the victims and the perpetrators.
We are very aware that bullying has lasting traumatic effects into adulthood too in the form of low self-esteem, anxiety and depression just to mention a few!
Together, we can
STAND STRONG!
We believe our educational resources can make a positive difference as they cover the key aspects of bullying and wellbeing.
This involves hurting someone, or damaging or stealing their belongings. Physical bullying is when bullies hurt their targets physically. This might be pushing, shoving, tripping or hitting for no apparent reason. Physical bullying can cause both short- and long-term physical harm. It can also result in psychological effects like low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. The effects can be traumatic all the way into adulthood and sometimes professional help is required.
Racial bullying targets someone’s ethnicity, race, religion, or cultural background. Generally, it involves a systematic belief that a particular race or ethnic group of people are inferior to others due to their beliefs, religion or the colour of their skin. Research suggests that when people are bullied based on their ethnic minority group or the colour of their skin, the effects can include depression, anxiety, feelings of worthlessness, and a tendency to isolate from others.
Cyberbullying consists of bullying behaviours through digital technologies like computers, smartphones and social media platforms. Because of the nature of technology, cyberbullying can happen at any time of day or night, leaving little room for escape for the person being harassed. Cyberbullying can be extremely harmful because to somebody's mental wellbeing. It can cause anxiety, depression, social isolation, and self-esteem issues.
